This is a reminder that we will have an AP meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, January 18th, at 1 pm in the staff lounge at Hollywood High. Please try to get a copy of Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN and start reading. I will start posting pertinent items on FRANKENSTEIN on the weblog starting this week. I hope you can attend. Looking forward to seeing you! J.K. Bridges
Hello! This is just to let you know that we will not be meeting on Thursday, January 13th. I'm going to be out of town for a couple of days - we're going to "MacWorld" in San Francisco - a computer geek's fantasy! We will be meeting on Tuesday, January 18th and Thursday, January 20th at 1 pm in the Staff Center. I'm going to New York with some of you the last week in January so we won't have classes on Tuesday, January 25th and Thursday, January 27th. However, we will have classes every Tuesday and Thursday in February. Start reading Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN and check in a couple of times a week for biographical information, background information on the Romantic Era and the prevailing philosophies of that time, plus literary information on the book too. I hope you're enjoying your winter break! (I sure am!) J.K. Bridges
Happy New Year! I hope all of you have had a wonderful and relaxing holiday! This is just an update for my AP English Literature Class - please try to get a copy of Mary Shelley's FRANKENSTEIN and start reading it! While you're at it, you might as well get a copy of Dostoevsky's CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. The first meeting will be on Tuesday, January 11th at 1 pm in the Staff Lounge (where the xerox room is). if you can make it, please e-mail me at jkatbridge@aol.com. If you cannot make it, please check here at least once a week to read assignments and commentaries on FRANKENSTEIN and CRIME AND PUNISHMENT. Hope to see you on January 11th! Sincerely, J. K. Bridges
