November 28, 2011 - December 2, 2011 Weekly Agenda for A.P. English Monday, November 28th: Go over Act 1, Scene 2 of HAMLET Go over homework: Write down as many examples of metaphors, similes, personification, allusion and imagery as you can find in Act 1, Scene 2 (minimum of three each). Identify the device and then translate the phrase into contemporary English. Watch Act 1, Scene 2 of Kenneth Branagh's HAMLET. For homework: read Act 1, Scene 3 and identify a minimum of three examples each of metaphor, simile, personification, imagery and allusion, and translate into contemporary English. Tuesday, November 29th: Go over Act 1, Scene 3. Sub couldn’t get video to work so kids didn’t watch video.) Tuesday, November 22 nd : (Cafeteria) Finish reading Act 1, Scene 1 and continue on to Scene 2 Pass out Act 1 open book test on HAMLET Homework Assignment: Go through Act 1, Scene 1 of HAMLET and write: Any of the following figurative language devices: Metaphor, Personification, Simile, Allusion, Imagery Identify in the passage which figurative language is being used.
