Hi Guys:

For 3rd and 5th period, you are to write a three (3) paragraph essy on "A Man Called Horse". The essay topic is as follows:
In "A Man Called Horse", the author writes, "He could afford to be *magnanimous for he knew he was a man." Giving examples from the story, show the journey that took him from being a shallow, immature young man to a magnanimous, mature, responsible man who knew he was the equal of any man. What was the final moment in his journey, his trek that made him a man?

*Magnanimous means generous, bountiful.

The essay is due tomorrow (Tuesday, October 7th) for 3rd period; Wednesday, October 8th for 5th period.

Hamlet Act 2, Scene 1: In this scene Polonius is giving instructions to his servant Reynaldo to spy on Laertes, his son, in Paris. (Again, note the theme of spying) Polonius is giving Reynaldo money to give to his son, but tells him to “to make inquire of his behavior”. “Inquire me first what Danskers are in town….” This is an example of elision or omission of words (words are intentionally left out to insure the lines scan in iambic pentameter.)
