b. “The Animal that Changed History” (page 43)
c. “Language History” (page 45)

Write a brief synopsis of the reading.


Tuesday, October 5th:

Shortened Day!

Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words from unit 3.

Read “The Gullah Dialect” page 44)
Write a brief skit with your partner using the Gullah dialect.
Present to class.

Wednesday, October 6th:

Write a short story using ten of your vocabulary words from Unit 3.
Brief improv!
“Adjective Clause” handout. Do for homework. Will be due on Thursday, October 7th.
Read “Diary of Samuel Sewell” (pages 56 - 57) in American LIterature: An Integrated Study.
Read “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” by Jonathan Edwards (pages 58 - 60)


Thursday, October 7th:

“Adjective Clause” handout is due.
Test over Unit 3 Vocabulary.
Continue reading and analyzing “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God” for figurative language.


Friday, October 8th:

Multiple Choice test on “Sinners in the Hands of An Angry God”
Work on speech using Jonathan Edwards’s techniques.
