WEEKLY SCHEDULE FOR
NOVEMBER 1ST
9TH GRADE HONORS
6th Period
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST:
We will go over the vocabulary, diction, syntax and irony in “The Cask of Amontillado” .
I think we need a little grammar now and I know how much you all like grammar, so we are going to have a verb tense review. Don’t worry, the review is not in your grammar book. I am going to give you a handout over verb tenses, which will be due on Thursday.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 2ND:
We will review and then we will have a wee small test over “The Cask of Amontillado” today, plus a small paragraph essay.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 3RD:
Today and Thursday we will work on the persuasive essay assessment. We will read a selection and answer multiple choice questions.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 4TH:
Today, we will write in class a persuasive essay which will be due by the end of the period. YOU CANNOT TAKE IT HOME TO WORK ON. This is a very important essay which will be used for assessment by the district so do your best!
FRIDAY, NOVEMEBER 5TH:
If all goes according to plan - and it never does - today we will begin the long anticipated literary analysis! Today you need to bring your outside reading novel, and your reading log. We will go over the format. The rough drafts of your first three paragraphs will be due on Monday, November 8th.
