9TH GRADE HONORS
NOVEMBER 15TH
Monday, November 15th:
1st Period:
Good morning and afternoon, scholars!
We will finish up “The Cask of Amontillado” - remember that? Please be sure to bring your vocabulary and “ironic” handouts. We will do a quick review and then a wee small test!
6th Period:
We will begin working on the dreaded literary analysis! We will go over the introductory and the second paragraph today.
Tuesday, November 16th:
I won’t be here today! But don’t get too excited - I’ll be back on Wednesday!
You will watch the film The Odyssey today! Yeah!
Wednesday, November 17th:
1st Period:
We will start reading about the Trojan War and what started the whole thing - I’ll give you a hint: it has to do with a beautiful woman, a playboy and the goddess of love!
6th Period:
Don’t fret! You’ll get to read about the beautiful woman, the playboy and the goddess of love too just as soon as you finish your literary analysis.
Your introductory and second paragraphs are due today. We will start working on your third and fourth paragraphs today.
Thursday, November 18th:
1st Period:
We will be finishing up the Trojan War - which lasted about ten years. We’re going to try to get through it in two days!
6th Period:
Your third and fourth paragraphs will be due today. Today we will be working on your final paragraphs.
Friday, November 19th:
1st Period:
We will start The Odyssey Today!
6th Period:
All your rough drafts are due today! I will finish grading all the rough drafts; then I will give them back to you and you will rewrite them and fashion them into a final draft. On Tuesday, November 23rd, you will turn in all of your corrected rough drafts, your final draft and your reading log. Then you can relax until we start the wonderful adventure of Odysseus!
