Weekly Schedule

AP English
Monday, April 11th:
Good morning, scholars!
The multiple choice questions over “Love’s Diet’ is due today. We will briefly go over it.
VERY briefly go over gerunds from the gerund homework from last week.
Please bring your grammar book, ENGLISH WORKSHOP: The Complete Course; we are going to do pages 109 - 112; exercises 14, “Chapter Review: exercises a, b, c and d.” This will be due on Thursday, April 14th.
Your vocabulary unit 6 will be due today.
Check out MADAME BOVARY and I hope we have time to start reading today. Be mindful that we are only going to spend about two weeks on this book. I really want us to get to ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT. So start reading!
Tuesday, April 12th:
Shortened day and earthquake drill!
We will probably just read today! Be aware that you will be expected to do outside reading in this book every night! So start reading!
Wednesday, April 13th:
Continue reading and discussing MADAME BOVARY, Gustave Flaubert, determinism and naturalism. Tonight’s reading will be assigned.
We are going to go over some of the finer points of essay writing: opening paragraphs, topic sentence, addressing the prompt, body paragraphs, writing strategies, etc.
Analyze some prompts and student essays.
Thursday, April 14th:
Your English grammar homework, pages 109 - 112, is due today.
I am going to assign a take home essay on a prose selection which will be due on Tuesday, April 19th.
Continue reading and discussing Madame Bovary, Gustave Flaubert, etc. Tonight’s reading will be assigned.
Friday, April 15th:
Multiple choice questions over prose selection.
Short test over Unit 6 vocabulary. Only twenty minutes will be alloted for this test.
This weekend’s reading in MADAME BOVARY will be assigned.
