Break into groups and do three tableaux for each play in the trilogy.

An essay will be assigned today and will be due on Friday, October 17th:

Choose one of the following characters: Oedipus, Creon or Antigone.

Your assignment is to chart the change, the development of the character as s/he first appears in one of the plays and how the character changes (or doesn’t)
during the course of the trilogy. How does the character change? What aspect of the character does not change? Does the character remain steadfast to an ideal or cause? Why or why not? Are there elements of the character’s personality that remain steadfast? What are they? Are these elements muted or do theses elements still flare up when the character is provoked? Think of Oedipus and notice that even as an old man he still flies into rages against his sons. Has he changed significantly from the time he was a young man and flew into a rage against Teiresias?
