Please be sure to bring your Nietzsche handout with you today. We will break into groups, read the assigned section of the excerpts and then present your section to the class.

Tuesday, April 21st:
Shortened day!
Your essay on CRIME and PUNISHMENT is due today.
Please answer the five questions over CRIME and PUNISHMENT.
Brief discussion of CRIME and PUNISHMENT.
Writing exercise: Read “Another Country” by Ernest Hemingway in PHILOSOPHY and LITERATURE and then using his style of writing, write two paragraphs analyzing Hemingway’s use of imagery to convey mood. This will be due on Thursday, April 23rd.

Wednesday, April 22nd:
Please answer the five questions over Crime and Punishment.
Brief discussion of CRIME and PUNISHMENT.
Multiple Choice questions today.

Thursday, April 23rd:
Writing exercise: Using Ernest Hemingway as a model, write one paragraph describing the mood of a scene with imagery and metaphor. Due by 11 am.
Your Ernest Hemingway’s “Another Country” writing exercise is due today.
Today we will read two excerpts from Jean Paul Sartre and Reinhold Niebuhr on existentialism.

Friday, April 24th:
Your Cornell notes for CRIME and PUNISHMENT are due today.
We will continue reading and discussing the two excerpts on existentialism.
For homework, you will be given multiple choice questions on another selection and the prompt for “A Woman’s World”, the essay for which will be due on Monday, April 27th.
