Monday, April 27th:
Please answer the five questions over CRIME and PUNISHMENT.
Finish the Nietzsche presentations.
Today PHILOSOPHY and LITERATURE will be checked out to you. We will read in class. Read Ernest Hemingway’s “Another Country”. For homework, write two paragraphs analyzing Hemingway’s use of imagery and metaphor to convey mood. This assignment is due on Tuesday.

Tuesday, April 28th:
Using Hemingway’s style as a model, write two paragraphs describing the mood of a scene through the use of imagery and metaphor. This will be due by 11 am.
Begin reading the selection by Jean Paul Sartre and the selection by Reinhold Niebuhr.

Wednesday, April 29th:
Timed essay on “It’s a Woman’s World”. Due at the end of the period.

Thursday, April 30th:
Briefly go over “It’s a Woman’s World”.
Discuss THE STRANGER. For homework, please read pages 61 through 91 of THE STRANGER.
Read Albert Camus’ “The Myth of Sisyphus”.
For homework, please do multiple choice questions and compare and contrast essay on two poems on “Eros”; one by Robert Bridges and the other by Anne Sexton.

Friday, May 1st:
Timed essay on excerpt from Cormac McCarthy’s THE CROSSING.
For homework: multiple choice questions and open question essay, both of which will be due on Monday.
For homework: please finish THE STRANGER.
