Monday, December 7th:
Due to the very tight grading window for the period, all outstanding work (in both senses of the word) are due today.
Over the weekend finish reading “Beowulf Slays the Troll; “The Parting of Beowulf and Hrothgar”.
Answer questions on page 35, questions 1 - 9; and “Applying: Metaphors”, questions 1, 2 and 3. These questions will be due on Wednesday, December 9th.
Tuesday, December 8th:
Your questions on page 25; “Think and Discuss”, questions 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5; “Analyzing”, questions 6 and 7; and “Extending”, questions 8 and 9 are due today.
Your BEOWULF essay (four paragraphs) comparing two of the four translations is due today.
Your “Unscrambling Adverbial Clauses” handout is due today.
Continue reading BEOWULF, “Beowulf Returns to Geatland”, and “The Fire-Dragon and the Treasure”. Don’t forget Cornell notes.
Wednesday, December 9th:
The questions on page 35 are due today.
Read BEOWULF, pages 40 - 48; “Beowulf and Wiglaf Slay the Dragon”, “The Death of Beowulf”, “The Messenger Foretells the Doom of the Geats” and “The Funeral of Beowulf”. Do your Cornell notes.
For homework: on page 48, answer questions 1 - 10; and “Applying: Foreshadowing” questions 1 and 2. This will be due on Friday.
Thursday, December 10th:
Begin reading HAMLET. You will be given the Act One open book test over Hamlet.
Friday, December 11th:
BEOWULF, page 48 questions and your BEOWULF Cornell notes will be due today
