Monday, March 22nd:
Go over writing strategies for William Blakes’ “Chimney Sweep” poems
Go over the first forty-two pages of FRANKENSTEIN
The next five chapters will be assigned along with the journals.
Pass out The Romantic Poetry section
Assignment: Read Lord Byron’s biography and his poems, “She Walks in Beauty” and “When We Two Parted”.
Analyze the two poems according to soapstones, structure and imagery

Tuesday, March 23rd:
Shortened day
Please bring your vocabulary book
The next unit will be assigned. This unit will be due on April 5th.
Multiple choice selection will be given.
Please read the next five chapters of FRANKENSTEIN, along with writing your journals entries.

Wednesday, March 24th:
Participle and participial phrases handout will be given. This will be due on April 6th.
Timed essay will be given today.
For homework please read John Keats’ Biography and the poem, “La Belle Dame Sans Merci”; look for soapstones, structure, shift in pov and narration in this poem.
Please read the rest of FRANKENSTEIN and finish the journals.

Thursday, March 25th:
Multiple choice selection
You will be given the packet for Percy Bysshe Shelley’s “Ode to the West Wind”
Begin analysis of the poem. Look for soapstones, structure and imagery in “Ode to the West Wind”.

Friday, March 26th:
Your journals for FRANKENSTEIN are due today. You will be given two essays. One will be over the novel, FRANKENSTEIN, in which you analyze how the novel satisfies the requirements of the Romantic/gothic novel. The other one will be an AP released prompt. Both will be due on April 6th.
You will also be given the book, CRIME and PUNISHMENT. Please begin reading and keeping a journal on this book. Please be sure to check the weblog for postings on CRIME and PUNISHMENT.
