Senior Project
You will choose a topic from a group of topics that I will supply to you.
You may select a topic, which is not on the list; however, I have to approve it.
The following is an example of topics you will be supplied:
The impact of Edgar Allen Poe on the French symbolist movement: particularly on Rimbaud.
Feminism in Gustov Flaubert’s MADAME BOVARY
The rise of the feminist writers such as Kate Chopin
Determinism in MADAME BOVARY
Feminism in THE SCARLET LETTER
The supernatural in THE SCARLET LETTER
The Impact of Romantic Literature on the Transcendentalism Movement in the U.S.
If you choose MADAME BOVARY, you need to read the book! You must also access three other sources regarding the book: either three different books discussing MADAME BOVARY (critical analysis/critical commentary on the book); or two books and a journal; or one book, a journal and an internet source).
The senior project must be a minimum of seven (7) complete pages.
The senior project must include a bibliography, which will not included in the seven pages.
You must have bibliography cards.
You must have a power point of about five to seven slides.
You must make a formal presentation to the class with a power point.

Hamlet Act 2, Scene 1: In this scene Polonius is giving instructions to his servant Reynaldo to spy on Laertes, his son, in Paris. (Again, note the theme of spying) Polonius is giving Reynaldo money to give to his son, but tells him to “to make inquire of his behavior”. “Inquire me first what Danskers are in town….” This is an example of elision or omission of words (words are intentionally left out to insure the lines scan in iambic pentameter.) What word or words are left out? Dansker: Danes Polonius tells Reynaldo to inquire about Laertes’ behavior in a roundabout general way: “encompassment and drift of question” and by this way will arrive at the truth faster and more completely than by asking directly (“…come you more nearer / Than your particular demands will touch it.”) Do you think that’s true?
