Watch the DVD of Kenneth Branagh’s HAMLET
Discussion of Act 3, Scene 1
Your Act 3 reading log is due today.

Tuesday, October 23rd:
Act 3 HAMLET ASSIGNMENTS:

Act 3, Scene 1:

Choose one of the following two:

1. Take the "To be, or not to be" soliloquy and dividing it into six parts, create six panels, illustrate the passages and write the passages underneath as captions (like a cartoon or storyboard).
The passages are from Act 3, Scene 1; lines 64 - 66; 67 - 72; 73 - 77; 78 - 85; 86 - 90; 91 - 96 (Stop at "... And lose the name of action.")

2. The Hamlet and Ophelia Scene: Rewrite in contemporary English and perform. You may also reinterpret with music, dance and spoken word.

Wednesday, October 24th:
Present the “To be, or not to be” soliloquy or present the Hamlet and Ophelia scene.

Thursday, October 25th:
Watch Act 3, Scene 2 of HAMLET
Read Act 3, Scene 2
Discuss the scene
Work on the reading logs

Friday, October 26th:

Choose one of the following two assignments: 

Pair up and work on Claudius’ confession on pages 165 – 166; lines 40 – 76 in Act 3, Scene 2. Take Claudius' attempt at prayers and reinterpret with music, dance and spoken word.
Pair up and work on Hamlet and Gertrude’s scene on pages 165 – 185; reinterpret with music, dance and spoken word.
