Monday, May 8th: 
Monday – Friday, May 8th – 12th, we will be in the library.
Monday and Tuesday, May 8th and May 9th, Ms. Whitham will review MLA format, research, note taking and work citation
Wednesday – Friday, May 10 – May 12th, you will be doing research
Thursday, May 11th your letter of intent is due.
May 19th  the following will be due:
Twenty note cards
Work cited page 
Your seven page research paper with work cited page
Your powerpoint, slide show, or prezzi 
Everything must be turned into turnitin.com
May 22nd – May 26th: presentation of your senior project with either slide show, power point, or prezzi.


For information regarding the senior project, please go to the senior project page on hollywoodhighschool.net for additional information, including information on the letter of intent.

Tuesday, May 9th: 

The Stranger reading log is due. You must turn it into turnitin.com. 
In library today to learn about how to do research and citation.  
Your letter of intent will be due tomorrow. 

Wednesday, May 10th:  
In the library to do research for their senior project. 
The deadline for your letter of intent has been changed to 11:59, Thursday, May 11th. 
The letter of intent is in business letter format.

Third Paragraph: 
Define plagiarism in your own words. 
Explain why it is wrong. 
Write a statement that you will not plagiarize. 

Closing statement and your signature.

In library to do research for research paper. 
Letter of Intent due at 11:59 tonight.  

Friday, May 12th: 
In library to do research for paper

Hamlet, Act 2, Scene 1

Hamlet Act 2, Scene 1: In this scene Polonius is giving instructions to his servant Reynaldo to spy on Laertes, his son, in Paris. (Again, note the theme of spying) Polonius is giving Reynaldo money to give to his son, but tells him to “to make inquire of his behavior”. “Inquire me first what Danskers are in town….” This is an example of elision or omission of words (words are intentionally left out to insure the lines scan in iambic pentameter.) What word or words are left out? Dansker: Danes Polonius tells Reynaldo to inquire about Laertes’ behavior in a roundabout general way: “encompassment and drift of question” and by this way will arrive at the truth faster and more completely than by asking directly (“…come you more nearer / Than your particular demands will touch it.”) Do you think that’s true?
