The following passage, from Sophocles Oedipus Rex, is the scene in which Oedipus begins to learn the truth of his parentage. Write a well-organized essay in which you analyze how Sophocles uses the interrogative, question and answer technique, to build suspense and dramatic irony.

This passage is when the messenger informs Oedipus that Polybus has died but he is not his father.

A foil is a character with contrasting characteristics with the protagonist in order to draw more distinctly the personality, characteristics, themes associated with the protagonist.
Examples: The evil stepsisters are the foil to Cinderella.
Iago is the foil to Othello
 Mercutio is the foil to Romeo
