On Tuesday, you will have a wee small quiz over Act 1 in Hamlet, and perhaps on Thursday another wee small test over Act 2. Peruse Act 2 for some possible questions for the test. I will compile some of the test from some of your questions. Be sure to include the answers

Hi Guys! For first period: Read Act 1, scene 4 of HAMLET for tonight (Thursday, 11/6). We will try to finish the first act on Friday. Over the weekend review the text and make a note of some good potential test questions from Act One. See if you can come up with three questions on your own - one dealing with figurative language (allusion, apostrophe, etc.), one dealing with plot comprehension, and the third one dealing with character and relationships. 2nd, 3rd and 5th Period: Bring your outside reading books and reading logs to class tomorrow. We will be working on the literary analysis in class and during the weekend. 2nd period: When we finish the literary analysis we will have a small quizz on the vocabulary. 6th Period: Katya, Christian, Melody are going to do their monologues tomorrow. On Monday, I am going to work with Rossellys, Leo, Steve Traege on THE SEAGULL, and I will have writing conferences with Robert and Rubecca. See you tomorrow!

First Period: Hi guys. I am not going to be here tomorrow. I am going to an all day theatre workshop. However, your asignment is to write a one to five paragraph analytical essay on THE MAMBO KINGS" - the handout we went over on Monday and again, on Tuesday. The prompt is:
Analyze how the author uses sensory detail and the effects the sensory imagery produces.
I also want you to use the graph that we worked on today in class to help you in your analysis. Horizontally there shoulde be a listing of the five senses (sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste) and vertically along the left of the graph should be literary devices such as alliteration, rhythm, etc. As you analyze the excerpt write down the details, and the literary devices that are used. Hi guys!
First Period: Please bring your white (well, they're all stained and tattered and torn up) Warriner's grammar book on Monday. We're going to go over some fun grammar stuff. We're also going to do a little bit of Beowulf and Chaucer's Canterbury Tales - not all of it. On Tuesday, I will give you a wee little test on Unit 12 vocabulary. On Wednesday, I will be at an all day theatre workshop but I will return on Thursday! Soon, very soon we will be studying the Bard - Hamlet to be exact.
Second Period: We will go over your very long vocabulary homework on Monday, and we will finish the short story, "By Any Other Name." There will be an essay which I will assign to you on Tuesday, which will probably be due on Friday. On Thursday, which is a minimum day, I will give you a wee test on your much hated vocabulary words. Finish up your outside reading book and don't forget your reading logs! On November 3rd we will start working on the literary...
